Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) is the city’s main commercial and administrative hub. It’s a dense, fast-moving area defined by office towers, government buildings, banks, shops, and busy streets. Throughout the day the CBD fills with commuters, street vendors, matatus, and markets, making it one of the most vibrant places to observe Nairobi’s daily rhythm and urban life. At the same time, it reflects the city’s social contrasts — where formal business and informal hustle exist side by side, and where opportunity and inequality are visible in everyday interactions.
